Adonis is a House music legend who rose to prominence in the 1980's after making a series of stunning Acid House tracks.
Raised on the West Side of Chicago, his introduction to music came playing in local Funk bands before going on to on to study at the American Conservatory of Music in downtown Chicago. One day a friend played him the Jesse Saunders track 'On and On' which inspired Adonis to go in to the studio to start producing his own tracks using the Roland TB-303. The first of these, "No Way Back" Adonis took down to a Trax Records party on a cassette tape, the DJ played it, Trax label boss / pressing plant owner Larry Saunders heard it and immediately started pressing copies up on to vinyl. The record was a huge success on dancefloors worldwide and more hits followed such as "Lack of Love", "We're Rockin' Down the House", "Tom Tom", "Two the Max", and "The Poke".
Adonis is a true musical pioneer, one of the originators of House music who still lives in Chicago where he continues to DJ, produce and record under a variety of different aliases.
