Jamaican singer, he began his recording career in the Rocksteady era as a member of The Tartans (alongside Lloyd Robinson, Cedric Myton and Watty Burnett) He also scored a massive hit as a duo with Lloyd Robinson, ?Red Bum Ball? under the name Lloyd & Devon. In the 70s he recorded tracks such as ?Vampire? at Lee Perry?s Black Ark studio (under the pseudonym Devon Irons) and ?You Found Heaven? at Studio One. A huge Curtis Mayfield fan, in 1981 he recorded ?Darker Than Blue?, an album of his interpretations of Mayfield tracks produced by Earl ?Chinna? Smith. He also had more hits at Studio One around this time with tracks such as ?Make Me believe In You? and ?Let Sleeping Dogs Lie?. In 1983 he rejoined old friends Cedric Myton and Wally Burnett, members of Roots group The Congos for their European tour and when it finished decided to stay in the UK where he lives today
