Reggae singer and younger sister of Alton Ellis. She started out singing at Kingston?s Vere Johns Opportunity Knocks Talent Show where she was a regular finalist. In the early 60s she cut several solos and duets with Alton for Studio One and in 1964 was was voted Jamaica?s best female vocalist. Solo hits followed, such as ?I?m Just A Girl? with Coxsone Dodd at Studio One and ?I Shall Sing? and ?Brown Girl In The Ring? with producer Ken Lack

In 1969 she was again honoured with ?Best Female Vocalist? award and the hits continued throughout the late 60s and 70s with Byron Lee, Randys / Impact, Bunny Lee, Gussie Clarke and Jackie Edwards amongst others. She moved to New York in 1985 but later moved back to Jamaica where she died in 2000.
