Had a string of hits, most notably with producer Bunny Lee and from the mid 70s to early 80s he was, along with Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs one of the most popular singers in Jamaica. Backed by Lee?s house band The Aggrovators and their distinctive ?flying cymbal? sound, and often mixed at King Tubby?s studio, Clarke tore up the dancehalls with tunes like ?None Shall Escape The Judgement?, ?Every Knee Shall Bow? and ?Rebel Soldiering?. He continues to record and perform today.
