Not working?

If anything on the website is not working on your system although you meet the requirements specified above please let us know so we can try to fix it. Please be as accurate as possible in regards to the browser and operating system you are using.

Site Requirements

To enjoy all the features of this website you need a fairly modern web browser, we recommend Safari or a Mozilla browser like Firefox or Camino. Javascript and Cookies need to be enabled. In order to listen to the samples you need the Flash plug-in, which is available for free from the Adobe website.

Prices

All prices are quoted in UK Pound Sterling, and will be charged at today's rate of exchange to your credit card.

Why isn't my credit card working?

All credit card transactions for purchases from SOTU and SJR are handled securely by Protx. Please phone us on 020 7734 3459 if you're having any trouble.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

We try to send out all orders within 48 hours, and you should expect to receive yours within 2 days in the UK, and within a week elsewhere.

Do you provide insurance?

You have the option to add insurance to your order by ticking the appropriate box in the shopping basket. Please note that without insurance unfortunately as soon as the goods have been sent by post it isn't our responsibility. To view the current price for insurance see our Postage page.

Do you accept returns?

Sorry, we don't accept returns unless there is a fault with the record/CD. Please return any faulty goods to Sounds of the Universe, 7 Broadwick Street, London, W1F 0DA, England.

Store

Some releases and tracks are only available in certain territories. Choose your location from the dropdown menu in the left column in order to only see the MP3s that you can actually buy in your country. Note that the relevant factor that determines if you can buy an MP3 is not your physical location but the address of your credit card.

Minimum Transaction Amount

As we have to pass on a cut of each transaction to the credit card companies we are forced to charge an extra fee of £0.25 if your total order amount is less than £2.50.

Format

All our digital downloads are LAME encoded MP3s with a bitrate of 320kbps. This is the best quality MP3 format available to this day. For more information on the LAME encoder, click here.

Artwork

Each MP3 release comes with a JPEG image of the artwork. The image sizes are 800 x 800 pixels at 72dpi.

Download

All purchased mp3s and artworks are available for download for 24 hours after purchase. You can download your tracks from any computer, simply log into your account and view your Order History. If for some reason you haven't managed to download all your files during that period please get in touch with us.

ZIP

Instead of downloading all the mp3 files separately you have the option to download an archive file (zip) that contains all the files in your order including the artwork image files. If you choose to download the ZIP file be aware that the generating of the ZIP file may take a while, depending on the size of your order. The download will start automatically once the ZIP has been created.
